The Spine Diagnostix Story
Today Spine Diagnostix is a cutting edge company providing physicians treating spine disorders a professional clinical reasoning tool to more accurately serve their patients. But the company actually started out as an idea. And the inspiration behind that idea, was a solo private practice physician named Dr. John C. Nordt.
Why Spine Diagnostix?
The software was developed due to the continuous misdiagnosis in spine by countless doctors in the Orthopedic and Neurosurgical community. These misdiagnosed patients end up with unnecessary surgeries, years of pain and confusion, and in many cases, life altering outcomes that include paralysis, ending up in wheelchair or being bed-ridden and is some cases, death. The result of these errors place an enormous financial strain on the entire healthcare system. The patients who receive these unnecessary procedures and treatments end up in an endless cycle of frustration. Unable to be active members of society, and stacked with unnecessary medical bills, these patients become depressed with the result having a major negative impact on their personal lives, finances, and careers. Today, industry has made a fortune on the misdiagnosis in spine, having doctors bill for many unnecessary treatments like pain injections or minimally invasive surgeries, completely unbeknownst to the patient.
The founder and major contributor to Spine Diagnostix is Dr. John C. Nordt, a board-certified Orthopedic Spine Surgeon who has spent over 40 years treating patients suffering from spinal disorders. Having carefully studied and enhanced algorithms developed over 30 years ago by the AOSS and North American Spine Society, his traditional approach to treating patients relies heavily on the forgotten practice of performing a true physical examination with a very proven methodology to accurately identify the root cause of a patient’s pain. These algorithms have now been brought into 2022 using Artificial Intelligence technology and the latest software algorithms to help today’s spine physician improve their clinical outcomes.
